Buffalo, NY: The AMA 250 Motocross championship came down to the last race of the year at Crawfordsville, Indiana’s Ironman Raceway. Adam Cianciarulo, a Team Dunlop Elite alumni, finished third overall and secured his first professional title. He led going into the final round by 30 points, and his solid finish gave him the championship by a healthy margin.
Cianciarulo’s championship marked several milestones. With Eli Tomac winning the 450 title the previous weekend, the 2019 season was the first time two Team Dunlop Elite alumni swept both national motocross championships in the same year. Like Tomac, Cianciarulo was on the original Team Dunlop Elite squad in 2007 and remained on the team for six years before turning pro. Additionally, this was the first time since 2011 that one manufacturer—in this case Kawasaki—took both motocross titles.
Congratulations to Cianciarulo, and to all the amateur racers who have made it to the Team Dunlop Elite program over the years. As Adam and Eli have proven, dreams can come true.
