Buffalo, NY: Thousands of racers from all over the country will converge on Gatorback Cycle Park near Gainesville, FL during Thanksgiving week for the 43nd annual Thor Mini O’s amateur championship.
As a title sponsor for this year’s event, Dunlop will roll into the paddock with the big support semi packed with Geomax MX32 and MX52 tires to cover all MX and SX racing classes. Dunlop will also sponsor the live timing and scoring of this year’s event, so even if you aren’t planning to attend you can still stay on top of the activities.
Most of the current Team Dunlop Elite riders will be competing at Mini O’s, including Forkner, Crown, Sexton, Bailey, and Cantrell, who will be moving up in class to the big bikes. Last year, Team Dunlop Elite riders won an impressive 18 championships, while Dunlop-sponsored riders claimed a total of 69 titles.
Each year at the Mini O’s, the rider in the Pro/A class division that accumulates the highest number of points combined in both Supercross and Motocross is presented the Dunlop Silver Tire Award. Last year it was Amsoil/Factory Connection Honda’s RJ Hampshire who earned the coveted award. Who’s it going to be in 2014? Stay tuned.
