Buffalo, NY: The 2013 AMA Supercross season will see the return of the popular KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC), and Dunlop is proud to support this youth-oriented series. Having earned a complete sweep of every AMA Supercross and Motocross championship in 2010, 2011 and 2012, Dunlop is already the pre-eminent tire supplier to the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, an FIM World Championship. The company’s support of the KJSC comes as a natural extension of its very successful support program for motocross racing at the grass-roots level.
The KJSC gives boys and girls the opportunity to compete on the same track as their heroes while also promoting motorcycling as a family activity. For 2013, the KJSC will also take place at two of the Amsoil Arenacross Series events for the first time in the history of the program.
A typical race day allows KJSC riders to race aboard identically prepared KTM 50 SXS motorcycles fitted with Geomax® MX51™ tires and participate in two practice sessions, with a three-lap exhibition race taking place during the night program. The young KJSC participants also participate in the rider track walk and are acknowledged during the opening ceremonies. The dates for the KJSC events are:
Anaheim, CA (Supercross) – February 2, 2013
Wilkes-Barre, PA (Arenacross) – February 9, 2013
Arlington, TX (Supercross) – February 16, 2013
Atlanta, GA (Supercross) – February 23, 2013
Kansas City, MO (Arenacross) – March 2, 2013
Indianapolis, IN (Supercross) – March 16, 2013
