Buffalo, NY: At round nine of the World Off Road Championship Series, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Taylor Robert wrapped up the 2012 Pro Championship after putting together a commanding 1-1 performance at Cahuilla Creek MX in Anza, CA. This marked Dunlop-sponsored Robert’s sixth overall win of the season giving him a whopping 71-point lead over second, which was enough to wrap up the title with one round remaining.
Robert has had an exceptional season ever since the series opener at Glen Helen in Devore, CA where he grabbed the overall win proving he would be the guy to beat. Since then he has found himself on the top of the podium at round four in Lake Havasu, AZ, round five in Surprise, AZ, round seven in Central, UT, round eight in Pala, CA and finally at Anza.
“I worked really hard this year,” said Robert. “I knew I could wrap it up at Anza after winning on Saturday; all I had to do was finish on Sunday. I was able to go 1-1 and clinch the championship. I never could have gotten this far without everyone that backs me. The team and I have put a lot of effort into this championship and it’s really rewarding to finally have that number-one plate.”
Dunlop would like to congratulate Taylor Robert on his first World Off Road Pro Championship.
