Buffalo, NY: For Eli Tomac, winning the 2019 450 championship was anything but easy. With strong performances by his rivals, Tomac—a Team Dunlop Elite Alumni—still managed to take four overall wins this year and was rarely off the podium. His victory marked a milestone for Dunlop: Dunlop riders have won every AMA Pro Supercross and Motocross championship for a decade. No other tire company comes close to that record.
Speed and consistency paid off as Tomac steadily gained a points advantage throughout the season, locking up the championship at the penultimate round. With a solid 1/1 performance at Budds Creek, Tomac earned his third consecutive 450-class championship with a 50-point advantage over second place.
Tomac has been a Dunlop rider ever since his amateur days and was on the original Team Dunlop Elite squad starting in the program’s very first year more than a decade ago.
