Zach Osborne takes the AMA Pro 250 Motocross Championship

Buffalo, NY: At this weekend’s Budds Creek AMA Pro National, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Zach Osborne locked up the AMA 250 National Motocross Championship, adding to the 250 Eastern Regional Supercross Championship he won earlier this year.

Budds Creek, round 11 of the 12-round 2017 Motocross Championship, was anything but easy for Dunlop-sponsored Osborne. In the first moto, he was taken out in an ugly multi-rider incident that had him back on his bike near the back of the field. Osborne charged through the pack for a hard-earned eighth place.

In the second moto, Osborne got off the gate clean and grabbed the lead at the half-way point to take the win, and lock up the title with one round remaining. In all, Osborne scored eight moto wins to take the 250 championship with 451 points.

Though the 450 championship is still up for grabs, one thing is clear: A Dunlop rider will win that title as well. No rider on a competitive tire is even close.

“Congratulations to Zach on his championship, and to all the Dunlop riders who gave him a run for his money,” said Mike Buckley, Dunlop Motorcycle’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “In a series where teams and riders can chose to run whatever brand of tire they want, we’re extremely proud that so many AMA professional riders and teams choose to compete on Dunlop Geomax® tires. The input we get from both professional and amateur racing makes its way into the production tires for our customers, and the Geomax line is a perfect example of a tire developed in racing that continues to be the choice for serious riders.”
